The IPMAT exam is conducted in two stages - IPMAT-I and IPMAT-II. IPMAT-I is a computer-based test (CBT) and IPMAT-II is a written ability test (WAT) and personal interview (PI). Here is the structure of the IPMAT exam:
IPMAT-I: The IPMAT-I exam consists of three sections - Quantitative Ability (QA), Logical Reasoning (LR), and Verbal Ability (VA). The duration of the exam is 2 hours, and the total number of questions differ according to exam given below. But different IIMs has different structure for their exams.

The written ability test (WAT) consists of a topic on which students are required to write an essay or a short paragraph. The topic can be related to current affairs, social issues, or any other topic of general interest.
The personal interview (PI) is conducted to assess a student's communication skills, general knowledge, academic background, work experience (if any), and other qualities. The personal interview is conducted by a panel of experts who evaluate a student's overall personality and suitability for the management program.
